The Importance of
Live Preaching

Jesus used preaching  to communicate the truth to the people of his day. Down the century's God has continued to bless it and rightly it remains a central tool in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the world.

Today technology allows us to listen to sermons from all round the world  in the comfort of our own home and what a blessing that is. However we must sound a note of caution. A Christian is saved on a personal bases before God but they are saved into a family. Part of belong to the church is that we keep close relationship with other members of God's family. The early church loved to meet together to hear the word preached first hand and  engage together in worship.

It is sometimes thought that listening to the sermon is not active worship but that could not be further from the truth. As we hear the word we will be praising God , applying the word to ourselves  and praying for others whom it brings to mind.

 Hebrews 10:25 urges the Christians not to give up meeting together as this encourages one another.  Commitment is a rare thing today and there is no better sign to fellow Christians of our union with them than regularly coming to hear the word together. 

Maintaining a balanced intake of instruction is also important. This can suffer if we just listen to what we like rather than what a local pastor feels led to by the Lord.

However above all above all when two or three gather together in a spirit of unity the Spirit of the Lord is present  which makes  live preaching  special and each occasion unique.

So if you are just listening to sermons on -line etc should you not think of seeking out a faithful church and know the blessing of live preaching.

Having said all this it is good and necessary for many to hear the word online etc and in that case we  pray you will find a benefit in listening to the sermons on
this site.
